It's time to raise the bar in architectural powder coating.

Welcome to Ideal Coating the new leader in the aluminum powder coating industry. Ideal Coatings goal is to raise the bar in the powder coating process by using only the finest products and skilled certified technicians. Ideal offers two state of the art 900 ft. circumference coating lines with an impressive 30” x 108” opening.

Powder coatings are solvent-free and comprise various synthetic-resin systems, pigments, and special additives. They are perfectly suited for high-quality coating of metallic substrates used in the construction industry. Since the early 1960s, powder coating technology has developed into an excellent alternative to liquid coatings. Their economic and ecological advantages in particular represent the future of paint technology. The raw materials used in powder coatings are processed in three steps: pre-mixing, extruding, and grinding, resulting in a fine powder. Depending on the specific application, the powder is then processed into a certain range of particle sizes. In contrast to liquid coatings, powder coatings do not contain solvents. Powder coatings are applied with either a corona (electro static) or a tribo (air static) process, and then liquefied and chemically cross linked at substrate temperatures of between 320°F and 400°F. The resulting coating has “thermo setting” qualities (meaning that heat is not able to soften it as would be the case with “thermo plastics”). The resulting powder coating finishes can stand up to the most extreme conditions and are suitable for a wide range of functions and decorative purposes.

Department of Transportation Powder Coating Certified

Ideal Coating is certified to powder coat aluminum products for the Department of Transportation. Government agencies are using powder coating as a way of extending the life of many items they use and protecting the environment in the process. Ideal also has the capability and certifications to manufacture guardrail and handrail.

Since the company was founded in the early 1930s, TIGER’s growth has been consistent and constant. Still privately owned, TIGER is one of the leading manufacturers of coating systems which are marketed worldwide under the name TIGER Drylac®. A momentous step into the future. At the beginning, liquid coatings were the company’s only product line. Later, in 1968, TIGER was one of the first companies in Europe to enter into the field of powder coating. Development and production of a wide range of powder coatings soon became the centerpiece of its product line. Today, over 1200 standard colors and a wide variety of metallic and special effect finishes are available.

Advantage of powder coating

  • Environmentally friendly because they are solvent-free
  • High mechanical properties
  • Application of a single coat can produce a thickness of approximately 2-4 mils
  • Excellent edge protection
  • Optimum results after application single coat
  • Efficient use of material (95%) due to recovery of overspray
  • Savings in material and application costs
